Detailed View about Leaf Spring Performance
Custom leaf springs are used on heavy duty vehicles to lift or lower ride height. They are typically used to carry additional weight and maintain ride height by increasing or decreasing a vehicle’s spring rate. Custom leaf springs are frequently used on cars and work trucks, emergency vehicles, armored vehicles, handicap vehicles, limousines, and farm equipment. Custom leaf springs are part of a vehicle’s suspension system and are relatively easy to install or replace. A few bolts fasten the springs to brackets on the underside of the vehicle. Leaf springs may need to be replaced over time for many different reasons as they crack, break or sag, and it is best to replace them with new leaf springs with custom specifications. All vehicles are built with suspension systems made to work with a specific leaf spring, and designed to sit the vehicle at a certain ride height. Custom leaf springs allow the vehicle’s ride height to be adjusted, up or down, to a customer’s specification.
